Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights Project (SRHR).

The goal of the Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights project is to break the culture of silence on sex and sexuality among young people aged 8-24. Over a year duration of the project, HELP-Ghana. RC SRHR Project has empowered young people to demand high quality SHRH information and services, including family planning services. The project has been implemented in 200 communities across the Ashanti, Central, Eastern and Western regions of Ghana.

Objectives:
1. To provide 70,000 young people aged 8-24 years with comprehensive SRHR and family planning education over 5 years.
2. To change the attitudes and behaviors of young people aged 8-24 years on sex and sexuality in order to increase their demand for high quality SRHS information and services.
3. To change the attitudes and behaviors of parents, teachers, community leaders and health workers around sexuality education for young people in order to minimize all forms of stigmatization, stereotyping, prejudice and abuse and to create the enabling environment for young people to demand for high quality SRHR information and services.

Outcomes:
1. Knowledge around sexual reproductive health and rights among young people aged 8-24 years increased by at least 40% in 5 years.
2. Increased demand and utilization of quality sexual reproductive health and rights information and services including family planning services by young people aged 8-24 years in targets districts in 5 years.

Targets:
1. Out-of-school Youth (aged 8-24): 20,000 over 5 years.
2. In-School Youth (aged 8-24): 50,000 over 5 years.
3. Parents, teachers, community leaders, and health workers (to be targeted with advocacy messages on sex and sexuality education): 20,000 over 5 years.
4. Condoms Distribution: 500,000 to be distributed (2,500 per community over 5 years)
5. Outreach HIV Testing and Counseling: 10,000 people tested (2,000 people per year for 5 years)
6. IE&C Materials distributed: 50,000 pieces distributed (10,000 per year for 5 years)
7. Train at least 200 Peer Educators in 200 communities in 5 years
8. Train at least 200 Teachers as facilitators in 200 communities in 5 years
9. Organize at least 2,000 interactive theater performances in 5 years (2 interactive theater performances per year per 200 communities per 5 years)
